Default Need accessories for my new Blackberry...

Please Login to Remove!

As you may or may not have read in my other post, I just bought a new 8700g. There are a few things that I know I need.

1. Screen protectors

2. Some kind of "holder"

3. Car charger

First, and foremost, can anyone recomend particularly good quality for the above? And where can I get them? Second, are there any other things that I will need?

Thanks a ton,
Dan

I use ScreenGuardz protectors actuially from my 7100, but turn them lanscape and they fit the 8700. Don't remember where it got them.

Then I have the Seidio plastic swivel holster which is almost like the OEM holster but has the swivel clip and a spring load latch at the top so the Berry can't fall out.

I also have a car charger and an Arkon 13" gooseneck windshield suction cup holder for the car. You can search any of the accessory sites advertized here. I got the Arkon right at Arkon's site (which I can't post because I'm too new).

Cool. As you can see, I'm not only new to the Blackberry, but to this forum too. Thanks for the advice.

I favor the following three vendors: screenpatronous, Fortte, and Seidio. All have been quality and responsive IMO.

Should be able to find a car charger at Radio Shack, Staples, Compusa, or a cell phone store. Miniusb is pretty standard.

I second Stinsonddog's recommendation. ScreenPatronus and Fortte are teh win!

Look in the HW/Accessories forum for more info on screen protectors and cases - http://www.blackberryforums.com/hardware-accessories/

Be sure the charger is for a BB. Some USB chargers do not current limit and they will over charge the battery.

I'm new to the BlackBerry (8703e) as well and this is what I selected:
Screen protectors: I went with Screenpatronus as well. I found them very clear and easy to install. And that's from someone who has problems in the past putting them on my Palm T3.
"Holder": I found the stock plastic holder a bit difficult to get my BB in and out so I purchased the OEM lambskin leather swivel holder. It's easy in and out, will shut the screen off when in the holder and it's very soft.
Car charger: I've been a fan of iGo chargers given the number of electronic devices that I need to charge. I had a car charger already and had to just pick up a power tip for my BB.
I hope this helps,
Golf2Much (just ask my wife)

Default Recommended Accessory

I would strongly recommend getting a battery extender charger. It uses 4 AA batteries and will charge your BB to full in under an hour. It is very compact and you can pick up AA batteries anywhere! I find it great when I am traveling and I don't have access to a car charger/ wall outlet or USB port. (i.e. when on a train, bus etc.or simply when I want to have a full charge without carrying other charging apparatus) It also charges my Motorola rechargeable bluetooth headset which also takes a USB mini plug to charge. Several are available on EBAY. I picked up one at pocket solutions for under $13 and I am more than pleased!
