Default God I love new devices v.batterylife

So I had the 8703e for some time and at first it was great on battery life. Then out of nowhere, the battery would be draining by the end of the night.. barely lasting 12 hours. I only had two third party programs installed (BBSmart Viewer and JiveTalk), which weren't running constantly in the background.

Now I'm using the 8830. I picked it up from the store last Thursday and the battery is still going strong, without any charging since. Today it just made it down below the 50% mark. I'm really impressed.

That is good.

I had the same problem when I had an 8703e. Every once in a while the battery drained in a few hours. Found that removing and reinstalling the battery cured it.

better than my 8830 battery life. But to be fair I get over 100 emails, send and receive over 100 pins, and also talk on the phone! I once in a while also go mobile web. my day is about 15 to 18 hours and the battery is around 20 to 30 % not shabby as that 20 to 30% is still available.

These past couple of days I've had very minimal traffic and phone use, so that's another thing to factor in. I'm just happy cause with the same use, my 8703e would be drained quickly. I'm almost scared installing aftermarket software (BBSmart Viewer and JiveTalk).

I agree that the battery life is very good. I've had my 8830 about 4 weeks and have been very impressed. I usually charge about every 3rd day. I've been meaning to see how long video will play, but I just haven't had enough time. I've made it through about 3 hours of video using around 25%.

BlackBerry battery life continues to amaze me, even after a year of using several different models.

For a few years leading up to trying a BB, I used a few Treo models, then a Moto Q, and finally a BlackJack. So with this kind of experience prior to finally moving to the BlackBerry device, it's a real pleasure to not only get great battery life, but to experience the reliability, speed and overall fantastic capabilities of the BlackBerry Platform.

Cheers!

Cool I agree!

I agree the battery life is great! I had a Treo 700wx & Treo 700P and the battery life was horrible, I'm glad to have a BB 8830
