On your BB, go to Options>About, and then the second line should say something like,

Wireless Handheld (EDGE)
v4.2.0.71

That is your operating system version. If it says "4.2.0.42", then you have a 1gb maximum. If it says anything higher than that, then you have a 2gb maximum. If you have the older OS, it is possible to upgrade, there are a lot of threads about it here.

Default 1 gb or 2 gb?

I just talked to one of the guys at Tmo today about this same question. He said technically you can use the 2 gb, but it makes it really sluggish. He was telling me this while he was playing with his t519 trace though, so I'm not sure if he knew what he was talking about. I would like to get a 2 gig card so I don't have to carry around an extra 1 gig for extra storage. Has anyone ran into this issue, or am I safe going with the 2 gb? Let me know what you guys/gals suggest. Thanks. Oh yeah, and does anyone know how many minutes of video will fit on a 1 and 2 gig card?

I just inserted a 2 gb into a .71 version and it formatted it to 1 gb. I'm going to try to stick it into my treo and re-format to see if this can get it to 2 gb.

Well, that didn't work. If I figure this out I'll post it up here.

If you getting your cards way below the distributor's price, chances are, you are getting a fake one. It amazes me that some sellers there are selling 4GB microSDs for $39 or something. Now I know that for a fact that THAT is not from a US distributor

Non US distributor means no guarantee of any warranty
