5.0.0.130 Upgrade Issues
Please Login to Remove!
After upgrading I noticed that:
1. The only browser option is MediaNet or Hotspot.
2. Can not change home page
3. Can not download DocsToGo update. Kept getting error 907. Saw this on other downloads as well.
4. Blackberry Store app will not run.
Other tan these issues seems to be stable!

1,2 and 3 are enough not to upgrade for me, especially 3 which is the case with a lot of applications that are not compiled to work with 5.0 yet.

This is a leaked beta thta doesn't fully work, your better off downgrading until a stable version is released.

Il take this one by one. First problem is that if you have at&t you will need to do the Browser fix in order to get the internet browser back. Most applications DO NOT work on .130 . Themes will not work either. App store DOESNT work either. This is an unfortunate problem with this build.

... or perhaps it really is an issue that this is a LEAKED BETA VERSION that is not intended for general use... and the issues with third party apps and themes is that THEY were not designed to work with the 5.0 OS (in ANY flavor)... those apps will need to be updated to work with a v5.0 OS when the OS is released...

Your correct 100% that is the issue.. But people dont have to load leaked software either.. I do find it funny though that many people act shocked when things dont work. But then again that is their right to test it, its their device Would i have used .130? never.

No argument here... I'd say that if you knowingly install a pre-release beta OS on your phone, you should be prepared to find things that don't work...

You can find the browser fix here I should just warn you ahead of time. That performing the browser fix on the att bold .130 you will very likely lose all/many media player capabilities.. Just a friendly heads up Be very careful using CrackUtil. if you do it incorrectly you could nuke your phone. Step1 or Step2 will work but use caution

I know Blackberry released the 5.0 somewhere in Asia a little while ago ( I think a week or 2 ago). Not sure if there is a multi language version readily available...
There are a number of 5.0.x.x.x releases going around over at Crackberry.

I am reding more in depth about the 5.0 release and see there are a bunch of bugs -- hot batteries, not compatible with apps, call failures, etc...
Might be worth the wait to get an official release

NONE of the 5.0.xxx releases are official releases... they are all beta and/or leaked NON-RELEASED versions.

Mods, can you please move this to the "Beta You Than Me" forum to prevent confusion.
Specifically third party apps will most likely not work since the os 5 has not yet been publically released, most vendors will not create software for a non-official release.
Like someone said, also expect a beta version to have items that fail to work.

5.0 Upgrade
I don't understand why people are saying the 5.0 version is a "leak"...my desktop software (v.4.6) told me there was an update to v.4.7...I asked AT&T and they referred me to follow Blackberry web site instructions...so I did.
I lost all appointments on my MSOutlook prior to AROUND 3 months ago.
Then within one week the BB Desktop software automatically came up with upgrade to v.5.0...I figured this was a fix for the MSOutlook problem...NOPE!!!

They are talking about OS 5, not desktop manager 5

You lost your Outlook email, uhm, from what I recall the Desktop Manager won't remove emails from your MS Outlook, it just copies them to your device and vice versa when you sync your device to your desktop, but you should have the redirector installed and it should be redirecting your emails. As for your blackberry.net email (BIS) if that's what youre talking about, you should really get into the habit of backing up your blackberry every day or so just in case you lose your phone or an update misplaces some of the email or other data.
If you read the fine print you will see that RIM and AT&T (your carrier) are not responsible for the data on your device, you are! So even though this might seem a bit harsh it's really your own fault for losing the data as there are preventive ways make sure you don't such as backing up your data.
