Email Icon Shows Unread Email All the Time
Please Login to Remove!
I have a pop 3 email account on my BB. The message indicatior shows an unread message. There are no unread eamils. I did a battery pull for more than 30 seconds. I deleted the email account on the the BB and when I added it again it still showed and unread email. It is not a vmail message I verified that, plus it shows it when the cursor is over the email icon. How do I get ride of the (1). It is really starting to annoy me. Any help would be most appreciated. It is a Verizon 8700 running v4.1.0.344 software.

I get an email icon if I have missed a call, I need to delete the missed call message in order to get it gone.

Hey Johnny, This may be a stupid question but could you possibly have an unread SMS message?

When I had the Zen theme on my phone weird things like that would happen. When I went back to a regular theme (have the Mac theme) it works fine. Sometimes funky things happen with different themes.

I was using the Zen theme then changed back to the Verizon theme with the same results. I double checked my SMS, email, and messages. Nothing is unopened. The message icon shows that it is supposed to be in my email. I have three email accounts and only one shows that I have an unopened email. Not sure if I am missing somthing else. Also changed to severl different themes, got the same result with all. Have not loaded any funky software or games on it either. It is more annoying than anything, there has got to be a way to stop the maddness.

try this . . .
Open your Messages - then hit "U" key. One of 2 things will happen: (1) Unread message will be displayed or (2) informational pop-up will appear saying "No unread message in list". Hopefully, the former will happen rather than the latter. . .
You also should check your Saved Messages Folder . . . and do the procedure above if needed.

Thanks
It was in a saved folder I don't usually save any of my emails to a folder, so I didn't think about it. You are great. Thank you to all who replied. This forum is the greatest. I was using another before but this one is the most helpful and courtious. Again, you all rock. Thanks for helping me stop the madness.

MY apologies. I started typing a reply and noticed you had typed the same thing.
Next time I won't give credit where it's due.
