French Government Bans BlackBerries: Fears US & UK Spying!
Please Login to Remove!
I just found this news over at Engadget.
Apparently, the French government has banned the use of BlackBerries by their employees, because RIM's servers reside in the UK and North America, and they're afraid this might mean their sensitive data might be vulnerable to spies! *rolls eyes*

Today Alain Julliet the the French government advisor who was quoted by Le Mond clarified that he is wondering why Le Mond is using a two year old statement of him. And he says: Blackberrys have no more eavesdropping risk than any other mobile device.

WHAT?!?!?!? The French are so retarded. They are just jealous that even the Canadians have outsmarted them. Seriously...the French are stupid. They are afraid of privacy issues, yet they all use Microsoft Windows machines which obviously is software designed by a US company. What's next...are the French going to isolate themselves from the world? They probably just don't want the rest of the world knowing exactly how many missiles they have sold to Iraq, and that they are continuing to do it most likely.
Stupid French...

Oh-NO not the French.....
Ah it doesn't matter France is just a stepping stone to the rest of the EU.
Any way they did not put up to big of a fight when they were invaded by the Germans...

I like the one article that ends with a blurb about the French National Assembly voting to move to using open-sourced software. Honestly, if 256-bit AES encryption is not good enough for you, then why not enhance your end-to-end security with S/MIME or PGP. This is just funny. FWIW, the dude making these concerns a big deal in France was a former retail manager...

It is just rediculous. What I find most amusing is that they're worried about interception of BlackBerry email content, but did nobody tell them how easy it is for Government agencies to listen in to mobile phone calls and view SMS content. So stupid....so French.

Oh ya'll jump on the Frenchies so quickly. I know from experience that the US government had the same concerns about Blackberry initially because the servers only resided in Canada at the time.

Very interesting!
But, of course, your post is useless without a LINK!
How can we verify Mr. Julliet's statement without a link to your source?

Sorry, but here in North America, we speak ENGLISH... and maybe a little French, up in Canada!
I had no choice but to translate the page from German to English using Babelfish, and, well, let's just say the online reality falls far short of the capabilities of the fictional Babel Fish. The English translation is almost complete and utter nonsense, because of the different grammar conventions of German versus English.
Anyone care to post a link to his comments on a site WRITTEN in English?!?
