Default Trackball: Cleaning and Lighting

Please Login to Remove!

After a simple attempt to clean my trackball (very slightly damp Q-tip), my trackball is now an unpleasant grey color and the trackball lighting is sporadic, often not working at all. How DO you clean the trackball? What can I do about the lighting? Thanks.

Try denatured alcohol - you can get it at any hardware store.

Just a Q why do you care about cleaning the track ball? And never put any liquid on your phone. Not even a dap with a Q tip.

you can use canned air. Buy it at a local hobby shop.

Why do you care about cleaning it? So it will keep working! When its covered in hand salsa, it doesn't work nearly as well.

Here is a tip for cleaning... Take out the battery first, so there is no power flowing. Then clean with some rubbing alcohol, and then let it sit a few minutes before powering up, to give the alcohol time to evaporate out (which it will, quite quickly).

peace,
sam

The alcohol works good...
Battery out - you know, safety first!
