Default Where is my risk?

Please Login to Remove!

I posted my bb 8530 curve in craiglist to sell
I hot an email from a young lady wanting the phone & she would send me $ thru paypal to ship
I didn't think it was legit so I thought I would never hear from her again... But the $ came thru with chipping instructions for Nigeria.
I have the money.... But if I send my phone thereof (which she sent more to cover shipping) can they access any personal info off my phone ? The phone has been restored. I dint want any problems and need to see what's all possible out there .... Thanks

I would reject the sale.
Based on thousands of Nigerian scams.

But if you proceed blindly, wipe the device first using JL_Cmder or BBSAK.

See our FAQ link on the top bar for instructions.

Well its not a lot of money to sell a used phone so to take a chance on somehow being scammed is not worth it. Find someone local to buy it and take their cash give them the phone and move on. For a few hundred bucks no one needs the drama.

Let her post the $ to your Paypal account. If she puts it there what difference does it make where it came from? Do a security wipe of the phone and send it if you've already been paid. What does this have to do with Nigerian scams? There are real people living in Nigeria you know. Just don't send it until she posts the payment, that's all.

There may be real people in Nigeria but based on the amount of scams being generated from there it seem it may be the leading business and not just for blackberrys.

I wouldn't take it find somebody here like the other post stated. get money give them the phone all done. i had a similarly situation he wanted all sores of info before he would sent the money. it looks like they just figure out how to get the phone. with money up front. but will probably bounce back.
