If you have specific problems with OS 6 (and there are some problems) you should delineate them so maybe they can get some attention and allow other people to realize your opinion may be based on facts and not some predujuce.

OS/6 seems to work fine for me. More attractive to use than OS/5 was. Some of the apps I was having trouble with (Facebook for one) now run with no problems. FB app was crashing the phone under OS/5.

I have a Verizon 9650 with OS6. The browser remembers my usernames and passwords.

Update - since the board won't let me edit my post. OS/6 OK except for the Outlook integration. Problems with calendar and contacts. I've been able to work around most of the issues for now but they really need to fix some of this stuff. However - that's what service packs are for.

I've just finished the update to OS 6 with Verizon Bold 9650 and I'm still getting used to it. So far I seem to like it. It took a bit for me to figure out how to get the menus to work but once I got that figured out everything went smoothly.

I'll let you know my opinions after I have had a chance to use it for a bit.

Wait until you try to use a Wi-Fi connection...
It cannot seem to work with either open or secured.
You have to have 3G VZW signal or no internet.
VZW totally clueless about it.
Also... Most apps are not written or supported for OS6. So expect a lot of your app to stop working or to cause the device to freeze/randomly reboot.

I totally disagree with your statements regarding Wifi. I use 3 different Wifi networks in general (home, work, and friends house). All 3 networks pop up just fine, did not have to re-add anything from my OS5 configuration. I have not tried any "open" networks, but I can say that the WPA, WPA2 secured networks work just the same as OS5.

For what its worth, all my apps worked fine off the bat as well. I really don't use too many 3rd party apps (beweather, ip wizard, google maps).

I have 24 third party apps, and they are all working with the OS6. I always upgrade apps as i am informed so I guess that accounts for it.

The Wi-Fi networks connect to the device, but when trying to pull an actual page 2 error messages show:

unable to locate requested server

unable to connect to internet if problem persistes contact provider

"provider" (VZW) is clueless as usual.

If I turn off the Wi-Fi, internet works fine (on the VZW 3G signal), but I need Wi-Fi inside the buildings because signal is too weak.

Also... VZW does not allow the blackberry "Wi-Fi Preferred" menu option in the connections menu. VZW techs argue that no thing exists. But the same model phone on another carrier has that feature and its easy to find tech blogs that instruct the user to use this feature.

VZW also does not allow Wi-Fi calling.

As for the apps... I have had 4 different apps fail since the change from OS5 to OS6. And the craters of the apps have no immediate plans for new versions of the apps.

Well, lucky you.

But you show ignorance in your narrow-minded subtle dig of a comment.
Just because YOUR selection of apps work, does NOT mean all apps will work.

Thank you for calling me ignorant, all i was trying to point out is that everyone is always putting everything down, and they should just be more resourceful. A) get updated apps and B) make sure you do know proper procedure for upgrading the OS on your phone. But I am sure that comment is not needed for someone as literate as you.

Still have to disagree. All 3 of my networks that Ive tried have worked. I get valid IP addresses on each and can have phone conversations awhile receiving email/BBM/web browsing. I don't mean to generalize, but it sounds like your situation is unique. Had Wifi been broken across the board with the VZW release of the OS, I imagine they would have pulled it. Anyone else having OS6 related Wifi issues?

I haven't had any WiFi problems, open or secured.

I have 36 third party apps. One of them stopped working after upgrading to OS6. BlackBerry News Feeds (I'm not considering that as part of my list of third-party apps) actually started working better with OS6. It was as slow as molasses with OS5.

I don't like that scrolling left or right within a tray will go to the next tray. I think it should stay within the tray unless you are scrolling on the title bars. I hear they are going to fix it in the next release.

Overall, I like OS6.

I went back to OS5 (latest one). The 2 deal breakers I can't stand in OS 6.

1) horizontal scrolling- completely useless for me. I hope they add an option to disable this.
2) Internet browsing options: no column view so regardless of increasing the font size in browser option, page is just too tiny.

I also have the Samsung Galaxy Tab and it feels as though RIM is trying to mimic Tabs feel which just won't work on the BOLD.

There's a nice new theme in the themes forum. No scroll bar. Just installed it and I'm back to normal (whatever that is).

Off topic for a sec: WOW, that log-in issue about blew my mind. Thought I was going crazy. OK, back to this topic. I was unsure about it at first, but I played with it and I definitely like it. My question is this. I got an email from Verizon about the upgrade. I clicked on it thinking it was updating the Desktop Software. So I haven't installed anything on the computer and did notice that during the installation it indicated drivers hadn't been installed properly. So long story short, do I need to install an update on the computer?

Thanks!
