Hi,

Does anyone know if there are alx and cod files to install gmail through a BES server. I can only find the link to the JAD file. I have about 20 bb's i wish to roll out gmail too and cant be bothered tracking everyone down.

I know i can just post them a link to the jad file which is what i will do it i cant get a BES install version.

Hmmm... For some reason the BlackBerry OTA Downloader doesn't like the JAD file I gave it - http://www.gmail.com/app/v2.0.5/L1/B...GoogleMail.jad
That said, download the JAD, then open it with WordPad (the file has only <LF> for new lines which Notepad doesn't like). Then go through the file and look for file names that end in .COD. Replace GoogleMail.jad in the URL above with the COD file name.

The only problem you might have is devices with older OS might need different files (probably OS 4.0 and older), and devices with higher than 4.5 (Bold's 4.6 and higher) might also need different COD files. You'd have to go to Gmail with a device with that OS to find out. You MIGHT be able to use Emulators to get the .JAD URL's for the higher OS's.
