Hey all, Im new to the forum and blackberry in general. Im gonna go down and buy a blackberry at the weekend. Can anyone help me with the following.

Im gonna buy a pearl. I was wondering are your emails stored on the memory card or the bberry itself. i.e. is it wise to invest in a new memory card if I'm going to be using it a lot. are there any size restrictions. I was gonna buy a 1 gb card.

Hope ye can help. I'm sure I'll be on here a few times over the next few days begging for help.

oooh one last thing. Is there any good apps/games out there for the blackberry. I'm a big kid at heart really and would love it if there was a few good games like on my symbian phone and is im+ or something like that available so I can keep in touch by using messanger when away from home.

E-Mails and applications are stored internally and take up part of the 64MB of internal memory. The microSD card stores media like MP3s, movies and pictures. I have the 1GB card and it is great. I have a load of MP3s on it, but I also have an iPod so I've never actually used the MP3s on the BB

There are several good games for the BB, but they are not free. Magmic Games : BlackBerry: Games and Cell Phone: Games has great games.

There are several IM programs available. Use the search feature to find them - there are lots of threads already out there.

Good luck!

I got my pearl and I love it.

Great toy.

Is there any free app that I could use to convert video's to fit the pearl screen. I.E. is there anything that will let me convert avi's I have already to the right form factor for the pearl. Hope you can help. Also is there anywhere else other than mobile.blackberry.com where you can get free blackberry games. The games I downloaded from the site aren't the greatest.

Thanks In Advance,

Al.

forgot to ask. What size do I need to encode video to and what file formats will the pearl play natively?

Thanks Again.

Welcome!

I Love the Pearl - except for the new bluetooth technology and limited phone book options (recently posted) - It is Great!

And in the red corner We have the Sexy Smart Phone weighing in at just 88g!!!
