Angry caller ID turns into unknown missed call after i answer

Please Login to Remove!

here it is another issue I have and had with my previous pearl too:

" The phone rings, I can see who's calling, let's say Marco. I pick up the phone, press the green button to take the call but it looks like I was a split second too late. I check on the missed calls and I have an unknown missed call.
I check the received calls too...as I was pretty sure i have managed to answer the call on time but...there's nothing there.
Sometimes as I've seen who's calling I call them back. all of them say that the call goes off after a few rings making a strange beep.
What would this be?

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

I have no experience with this. Maybe someone will come along with information. But in the meantime, have you asked your carrier? Doesn't strike me as a device issue.

go into your phone application > menu > options > smart dialing

make sure it is set to the country code, your area code is set, and the national number length is set as well.

I've rung the supplier. it seems to be ok with them. the problem is that i have mates on orange with pretty much the same problem. i had it on my previous bberry...
there must be an issue with the software somehow, somewhere...

i remember checking on the above settings before but i cannot find them now. they should be ok...
