Smile Success with Verizon BB 7250 upgrade to BB OS 4.1

Please Login to Remove!

I just finished flashing my 7250 with the BB OS 4.1 from Verizon wireless. Everything went well following the directions from the VZW website.

I had some issues getting the EVDO PRL list, but it worked on the second try. I even called Verizon wireless data support after the first unsuccessful PRL update attempt. He couldn't find any problems with my account, but worked on the second attempt.

You will need both upgrades the desktop as well as the handheld there are instructions for both at the same page. Good luck.

My understanding is that this upgrade will turn the EVDO on for you, you still have to dial *228 and do th programming but it should be turned on. Prior to this you had to go through Verizon to do so.

Default This is not working out well...

I did the upgrade following the instructions on Verizons website. All seemed well and I got the PRL update. I played around a bit and then I noticed that the last thing in Verizons instructions said do a power cycle. So to be sure, I pulled the battery and now on booting up I get JVM Error 523 and a button on the screen to reset which reboots back to the same message. I've pulled the battery several times and I always get the JVM Error 523 message when it tries to boot up. I had EVDO with 4.02 prior to this "upgrade".

I did the upgrade and everything went as expected. No problems with PRL, no problems with reboots. Still getting used to everything, but wireless sync of email is great.

There seems to be a problem with the DNS for the download sites.
