Default Can't use DM.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I DLed the file: 8820M_PBr4.2.2_rel338_PL2.5.0.40_A4.2.2.184_RIM

I'd like to back my 8820 up.

So I installed it on Vista, but that obviously doesn't work. So I took the file to my laptop, which has XP SP3 on it and tried to install it. It seems like it installed just fine, but for the life of me I can't find it in the Start menu.

I looked under the Programs folder and couldn't find it there either.

So I looked up in Add Remove Programs and I can see the program there.

Where is the program so I can run it? I read up online about it and it says that is should be under Start>Programs>Blackberry, but I can't find it.

Do you have the Desktop Manager installed on your computer?

Here is the link to all of the DM downloads from the RIM site:

I would suggest selecting version 4.7 from the dropdown menu. You will need to decide if you also want the Roxio Media Manager-it's designed to help you transfer media between your PC and your BlackBerry. I've never had an issue with it, but sme have, and it's totally optional. If not, select the verison that dosen't mention it in the title.

Also, as you are using Vista, try logging into your PC as an Administrator beofer doing this download.

Alright, that did it. Thank you.

One last question. My USB port is flaking out more than ever.

I don't have much on my BB (Phone was given to me as a gift and I couldn't justify the data service as a college student). Can I transfer the memos and the phone numbers to the computer by using the bluetooth connection?
