Default 9000 ex-BES device

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys

I've got a 9000 Bold that was ex-work stock and has always run under BES activation.

I have wiped the device to the point of JVM error and re-loaded the software from the BlackBerry site, but cannot seem to get the option to set up an internet-based email account. Everytime I go into setup, it only offers me BES option.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan on your account?

Not on the one I tried with yesterday. That thought did cross my mind. Would the provisioning of the SIM card bring that option up - I know from experience when a SIM has been dual provisioned, it sometimes causes issues on BES activation, therefore we have had to ensure the SIM was provisioned for Enterprise only to activate.

I suppose it could work the other way?

If the SIM is provisioned for a BES data plan it will have the option for personal email addresses as well. Either BlackBerry data plan will work.
