my company pays 100% for me to get a BB, but if i work from home they won't pay for a land line. seems like the appropriate fiscal decision here is to just use the BB at home. i wish there were some type of accessory that i could dock the BB in and have regular sized buttons and a quality speakerphone, as well as have the phone charge. does anything like this exist?

Not that I have seen. They have them for iPhone, but not BB.

The best thing I can suggest is a good comfortable headset and a charger near your workspace.

Another option for an enhanced speaker phone is the Plantronics P830 -- it won't charge, nbut you can pair it with the BB and a headset as well. If you have a personal home land line you can route that through it as well.
