BeeJiveIM -- the account setup screen is messed up, and makes it virtually impossible to see what you're doing. However if you have patience, you can, in fact, get your accounts added. After that, it works beautifully. I have my accounts for GoogleTalk, AIM, Yahoo and MSN/Live running and it all looks good. Will probably add FB in a bit as well, as this version supports that (I think it's beta 1.2).
i added my accounts but any IM screen is completely white and i cant see anything as im typing or what the person types. yours works fine?

also, what do you mean by FB beta 1.2?

Sorry - was apparently very tired when I wrote all of that. I jumped the gun on BeeJive -- I *do* have all my accts logging in, and the status screen looks great. But the actual conversation screens have the same all-white issue that the account setup screens have. It's pretty much unusable with this OS version. My bad!

My reference to the beta was to BeeJive beta 1.2 -- the version that supports FB chat. I figured that, if BeeJive worked under this OS but the FB client still didn't, I might at least use BeeJive to keep on top of FB chat.

Unfortunately, BeeJive is a bust on this version of the OS... :(

No. Rumor has it that 1.7 is intended to work with that release. Somebody posted that it was "in testing" now and should be out soon...

Oooh, BerryWeather works? Cool. I am getting sick of using WeatherEye. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the heads up on that vinmontRD.

So far I haven't run into any issues and been running for two days now.

Wirelessly posted (8900)

Yes - BerryWeather seems perfectly happy on .130.

Definitely a few glitches in general with.130 but I like it, and so far not enough issues to make me remove it.

BB messenger 5.0 does not work any more with this software. Does anyone have a fix ?
I can install it, but, after that the messenger app is completely gone.

I know there was some confusion at first, and the BBM5 downloads that should have worked with 5.0.0.130 didn't. Then it seemed the versions for the Tour (4.7.x.x I think?) were recommended, and then somebody started posting links for OTA installs. I think the proper BBM version wound up being 5.0.0.8. Sorry, don't have the link any longer, but if you run the following google search, you should find a number of download links:

Google

I've been using BBM5 on my 8900 with 5.0.0.130 for a couple of days, and really liking it -- very nice IM client.

Thanks vinmintRD,
The link did not reveal something useful, but searching the version number, I found a working version.

Sorry there was nothing immediately useful at the link. But glad you were able to find a working version!

My challenge now is to decide what to do about BeeJive not working on 130. Very frustrated about this. Wondering if I should try out IM+, although I can't see spending $40 on it when I have a BeeJive license already...

:(

Dumb question, did the Precision Silver theme make it into this build? .100 it wasn't listed and all I got was the T-Mobile theme (not a fan of the colored icons)

Default Memory leak in .130

I've been watching the free mem in my 8900 over the last few days with 130 installed. I had been hovering around 100MB -- about 15MB less than I had with 4.6.1.250, but I figured that was reasonable considering how much more was installed and running in this release.

However today I see that free mem is down to 75MB. I even hooked up the new "memory cleaner" they include in the Security settings (and turned on the icon on my home page) but this only recovers about 2MB when I run it. I'm still hovering at 75MB for the last two hours. I checked app switcher, and nothing unusual (for this release) is running. Still can't get back up past about 75MB.

Update: Just did a battery pull, and I'm back to 106MB free mem. Will watch this some more to see what happens...

With all the memory on the 8900, this hasn't threatened to lock up my BB yet, but it's something to watch and be aware of, and something that I'm sure will be addressed in future builds.

One thing I have noticed is no missing phone call icon when a call is missed. Anybody else notice this as well

Have you considered that perhaps your phone is possessed?

Mine is weird, but I haven't experienced music on call-fail yet...
