Default OS: 8100 4.5.0.75 / 4.5.0.52 (MultiLanguage/East Asian Lang)

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8100 smartphone BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.75 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.75
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.5.0.52
  • Software Platform: 2.7.0.66
  • File name: 8100M_PBr4.5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_TIM_Ital y.exe
  • File size: 76.82MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here.

For East Asian Language Support: Click Here.

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8100:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

To find previous versions of the OS for this device, click http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...dafone-de.html

Note: Preinstalled wallpapers and custom folder icons are not included in this release.

The only major bug in this version is that the camera washes out pictures or makes them too dark. Beyond that, this is a stable version.

If it's too bright the picture washes out. The camera is bad on versions after 4.5.0.18 and isn't fixed until 4.5.0.55.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

I wonder if the older 3rg party sops and themes will work with this. ie color pearl, today plus etc. Was the issue a function of the .37 instability or a function of the leap to 4.5?

No, this OS works well with ANY carrier branded 8100 device as long as you follow the directions in the first post.

So you're saying that this 4.0.75 doesn't fix the camera problem cuz it's using the .52 application right?

Hi

I got 14.5Mbytes

Now after few minutes of not working it start to behave properly.

I have a small issue with my web&walk but I do not know if it is the upgarde or the provider.

I will keep you update in due time.

Crap. That's my only complaint with 4.5.0.42. Guess I'm waiting for the next version.

At this point do we know any clear advantages to upgrade to this revision over the .18?

With mine the camera look not too bad, but the web&walk doesn't want to work at all!!!

I start to really believe that is due to the upgrade!

Is possible to upgarde to a lower OS version?
If so, which one would you suggest? Is there any link that I can use?

Cheers

NONE, I find .18 to be the best for the 8100.
IMO keep .18 until we get something worth a flip for our 8100's.
