I'm not too sure how this is done, but before I switched out my bolds, I deleted my contacts from bbmessenger just in case someone else ended up with the device and my friend immediately sent me a text message asking me what happened because it looked like I disappeared.

but I wonder...wouldn't your family wonder why you're not responding to ANY of their messages? Can you really excuse away all that? And even if you could, couldnt they, and anyone, just send you an SMS? I mean.. I'm assuming they have your phone number...they could also just call.

Still I'm kinda interested too...because I have an annoyance with my number, and I refuse to pay to have her blocked, so I'd like some alternatives.

Wirelessly posted

You can enablle the firewall within the security options and blocking all incoming PINs, SMS', etc.

Or you can set up a profile that doesn't alert you to messages from an individual. The messages will still arrive, but you won't hear it or feel a vibration.

You can set your "status" to unavailable. That places a red x on your smiley and tells others that you are "unavailable." They can still send you messages but maybe it will slow them down a little when you don't want them.

well yeah, buat at least they wont know they i've already received the bb messaged, i'll just say I didnt receive them. So it'll just be back to SMS and call. you know, i thought there's someway I can make sure the other side wont get a 'tick'/'tickread' when they send it to me...

if there's a way, sigh..

Um... BBM shows delivery and read status, so you couldn't tell them you never got the message. They would know you aren't telling the truth. How about just stepping up to the plate and telling them to stop sending you so many messages?

Or just use the number of messages as an explanation of why they get so few in response. Tell them you are overwhelmed.

When in doubt: tell the truth.
