Software For BlackBerry® 8320 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.108 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.5.0.108
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.81
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.78
* File name: 8320EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel108_PL2.7.0.78_A4.5.0.81_ Voda_Australia.exe
* File size: 73.83MB
Download Link: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...19656875EE557C

Instructions for installing on ANY 8320 (regardless of carrier)

1. Make sure you have Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 or higher installed.
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the OS file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

Just Curious.. How is this one compared to 4.5.0.81/4.5.0.55 ? ? Anything new changes? Does it run smooth like 4.5.0.81/4.5.0.55?

"Instructions for installing on ANY 8820" shouldn't it be 8320?

Funny thing just happened when trying to find my latest version via handheld. The ABOUT is not working. I hooked my phone up to the PC and found out I'm running 4.5.0.52.

What does it mean that it says (EastAsia) do i have to be around there for it to work?

Just have a 8320 that im trying to upgrade.

If you used John Clarks memory optimization thread to remove voice dialing (VAD) then the about will not work. You can always just Alt EACE to see what version you have.

No. The OS doesn't care where you are located.

And it won't even know.

Yes, if it will do it that way, do it.

Sometimes according to whatever circumstances, the battery needs to be in or out. There is nothing wrong trying it either way if it doesn't work the first way.

Well okay.. For example.. I use a password lock on my phone and after i wiped and installed the new O.S. my same password still exists. So it didn't completely wipe my phone.

Here is what i did.. I used JL_Cmder and wiped my phone.. Showed the 507 error like so. Then i open DM and went to Application loader and connected my device and the install thing popped up so i chose my apps and what i wanted installed and installed the new os. Took awhile to boot up then finally but it came to the locked screen.. where i had to use my same password as the previous O.S. understandable?

No, I do understand. But I don't know why.

If it came up to the error 507 screen (no OS) you can pretty much bet it was wiped.

Let's see what another here might say.

So wiping a blackberry is like formatting a hard drive.. correct?
