Nina,

Please don't double post your questions : http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ball-tour.html

Try powering the device off and then pressing down on the trackball and roll it to the left multiple times. This should dislodge any debris that could be preventing it from rolling in that direction.

Compressed air and/or alcohol swap. Worst case I'm sure you could get a new one.

Yes I know, but at least you can do a return or exchange within the 3 day or 30 day window.

VZW employee's can exchange at the stores just like any one else. You have to talk to the store manager because your account is blocked. The store can't do a ESN change. So you hand them your phone and they hand you the new one and you go on My-Verizon and do the ESN exchange there. Make sure you back up your phone first before you go to the store. The hard part is finding a manger that understands the rules. good luck

If you go in Options and then Screen/Keyboard there is a Trackball Sensitivity option in there and you can play with the sensitivity for moving Horizontal and Vertical. I think Horizontal works best at about 80 to 90.

Hope this helps.

to fix this issue, you will have to disassemble the unit and align the UPC board behind the keypad.
