Re: Who else is really dissapointed?
Perhaps if RIM made just a few different phones, instead of a closet-full to fit every price-point - they'd build a better mousetrap. Apple builds 2 phones...
Focus RIM, focus...

Re: Who else is really dissapointed?
ya focus rim. id buy the 9900 if it ran or the option to run android with a virtual pin and bbm ;) . What berry n droid out there has that? :P Heck might be even better to do a winberry with the wp7 with virtual pin and bbm. (Make sure the pin and bbm stays exclusive too) Maybe then you can pump out better hardware, but for now Im fine with my 9780. Maybe your next bold I will buy.

In the uk the distribution model was wrong - given it didn't have a native email client then it would really only have appeal to the existing BB users. So did RIM get the carrier's corporate channel and B2B dealers to sell it to their existing base (figures of 50-75% BB penetration in those channels). No they ran it as an exclusive in the high street (shopping mall) retail stores where it unsurprisingly died on it's ass

Re: Who else is really dissapointed?
Not at all, pretty happy with the battery life, hated it on .261, but haven't had any issues yet on .296

Re: Who else is really dissapointed?
I have had some memory leaks, from apps which seemed to work, but when I went into App World, the descriptor would say that this app is not supported by carrier, country/region/device/etc....
So I deleted them. The only issue I am having is with 6-tools. The app's battery meter is not synced with my berry's regular battery indicator.....weird. But with all those unsupported apps deleted off my device. I am not suffering any memory loss or battery drain.

Re: Who else is really dissapointed?
I love the phone, hardware is truly awesome. But i am disappointed by lack of a pandora app, lack of visual voicemail, and a few other small details. I love rim I just sometimes think they have their heads in the sand. In a related note i love my playbook and the bridge function to my 9930, absolutely genius.

Re: Who else is really dissapointed?
Battery seems fine for me and my use and my ability to charge in a few different places.
Very happy with the overall look and feel of the 9900. I don't give a crap about cameras on phones but this one is interesting, not too bad.
The biggest gripe, if I had one would be that sometimes scrilling up on the trackpad triggers a 'down' or a tap because my thumb hits the bottom of the screen. Most likely, I just have to work on that myself, whatever.
My boss is mostly a Mac guy and the has an iPhone but works gives him a BB so he uses it there. He was so impressed with the 9900 he wants one.
I also started playing with the wikitude augmented reality stuff, wow it's cool.. and it works.
I couldn't believe how many people were sharing their location through bbm! Made sure to turn that off myself, but some people are cool with random bbm chats.
All in all, this is what RIM needs, this is the device they should be building off of for future models.
