In order to use it for tethering as a modem you have to sigh up for that feature with Verizon and its an additional 15/mth. according to three reps I have talked to.

I want to update my modem FAQ.

1. When configured properly, does it say "EVDO" on your 7250 where it used to say "1X"?
2. Try my modem FAQ. Does it work? What changes are needed to my modem FAQ, specifically for Verizon?

This thread is a duplicate of the one in General:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=19599

Since this is a major software upgrade for some users interested in Verizon BroadBandAccess (the fun stuff being advertised on TV), I will be leaving both threads open.

Thats what the VZAccess Software does. It installs the driver. It puts it on com5 though, and i think password is vzw (or it might not matter). The dialer kept on coming up though even after i had disconnected the device, quite annoying because it blocked the wifi access. Any suggestions? Is there any clarity on the charge (if any)? Bluetoot sync and modem access do not seem to work though with this version (4.0.2.xx)

Mark-
You are the man! Worked like a charm. On the 1X network the BB connects at 115K. Can't wait until I'm in my home town where I can use the EVDO network. The key was to have the BB Manager app running.

Thanks again.

It says before you install this you need to contact Verizon for Broadband. I read the following:

Do not use BlackBerry Handheld Software version 4.0.2 without contacting Verizon Wireless to add the new BroadbandAccess Connect feature to your account.

* BlackBerry Handheld Software version 4.0.2 is only for BroadbandAccess Connect subscribers. If the BroadbandAccess Connect feature is not added to your account, your BlackBerry 7250 Handheld v4.0.2 will not function properly.

* To perform a complete upgrade to BlackBerry Handheld Software version 4.0.2, you must first install BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.1.

I just bought my 7250 10 days ago and installed the 4.0 software. I am assuming there is an upgraded version. Next, do I need to call Verizon to install this EVDO software and IT WORK PROPERLY? I have the full unlimited data plan so I am assuming that being new, this would automatically apply for me. Any thoughts here are appreciated.

Follow these instructions:
How To Enable EVDO BroadbandAccess On Version BlackBerry 7250

Don't worry if you already installed 4.0.2 ... Just follow these instructions.

If there are any problems, you can always downgrade to an older BlackBerryOS (there are downgrade instructions in the BlackBerryOS Upgrade FAQ in my BlackBerry FAQ)
