Unhappy SDHC Memory Card problem problem

Please Login to Remove!

I have problem. Whenever I put my SDHC card into my Blackberry Curve (8300), it doesn't turn on. The light just turns red, but that is it.

What do I do?

Take the card out.
Back up your data onto a PC.
Reformat it on a PC.

What version of the handheld OS are you running (Options / About will tell you) and what size memory card is it?

I already backed it onto my PC.

But how do I reformat it?

Also, I don't know what handheld OS I'm running. It's a 4g memory card. I have a blackberry Curve 8300.

Options > About -> to get model and OS

Put card in card reader, select the drive letter for the card using my computer or windows explorer, right click, select format.

For card capacity vs OS compatibility -> http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/W...n_my_device%3F

SO It says
Blackberry 8300
Smartphone (EDGE)
v4.5.0.81 (Platform 2.7.0.78)
Cryptographic Kernel v3.8.5.32 a

How do I reformat it? Since my phone wont even turn on when I put it in. And when I put the SDHC card into the adapter into my laptop card reader, it doesn't even detect it.

By the way, you shouldn't have to format a new card, anyway. (You said you just bought it.)

Did it work for you initially, or has it been bad from the start? How about returning it to the place you bought it, for an exchange?

I don't know of any particlar brands that are a problem, but I would advise buying a name-brand card, and avoid buying the cheapest.

I think it's not a bad choice. I'm surprised the card was bad.

Where did you buy it? Was it packaged, or loose?
