Default CrunchSms 2.15

I just downloaded it, but I'm getting a message saying that it is only for OS 4.6 (I have 5.0). But in a forum over at Crackberry, one of the members running 5.0 with a 9700 was not having any problems. I downloaded it because of you being able to have contacts pics with it.
Is there something I should/should not be doing, or will I have to use an earlier version?

Os5 has all the features of crunch. There's no need to run it

I know, but the bubble look is different & colorful. That's really the only reason I'd like to use it on occasions.

Ahh. Well, in that case, I would message the guy and see how he got it on 5.0. Or contact the developer

Not true.
It has the ability to break up messages longer than 160 characters, instead of having to start another conversation.
Os5 doesn't do that.

Since I live by SMS (kids, wife, work, dispatch, etc), it is quite useful for me.

Devices on GSM networks (T-Mobile, AT&T) already do this. It's CDMA networks (Verizon, Sprint) that don't automatically send multiple messages where content exceeds 160 characters. At least, that's my understanding of things. No, I have no idea why.

One of my issues with OS5 has to do with alerts. Yes I can set an alert tone for SMS with OS5. However, if I use a custom ringtone for a contact, that ringtone for the phone, blocks the profile alerts. I now have to set a messages alert tone as well. And ALL messages for this person get the same tome. So now I can't tell the difference between a txt..needing and immediate response... vs e-mail which can be acted upon later.

Enter CrunchSMS. I can set Crunch to have an SMS alert tone that works on everyone... Just like the older versions of BB SMS... as it uses BB Sound Profiles. Big win for me.

So yes, I have it working on my 9700 with 5.0.0.680.

To get it on 5.0, go to http://crunchsms.com/install using your BB browser.
