Default Great Cradle (review)

Please Login to Remove!

Just thought I'd share some feedback on a great cradle I recently got on ebay.

It works great and unlike many I've seen out there isn't just a phone holder that then requires you to plug in the usb cable yourself. The usb is actually built into the cradle.

There's a couple models, I got the one that charges an extra battery just in case I ever need to have a spare charged and ready... but there's a phone only version as well.

Not sure if it's okay to post links here so I'll refrain, but if you're looking around on ebay for one here's a couple pics of the one I got:

(it comes with the data cable and charger as well)

I have this same type of cradle for my 8700g. I love them.

That being said I think this thread should be moved to the Reviews or Rants and Raves section, no?

I purchased this cradle as well and I must say that it is very convenient. Due to the BlackBerrys' design, with the oddly placed charging port, which can be very annoying at times, sliding the phone into the cradle is not usually as easy as it should be. This can't be blamed on the cradle though. It charges my extra battery as expected as well as my phone.

I need a cradle like this (one that will hold an extra battery) for my 8300 but can't find this on ebay... can anyone help? Does it have a name or model number?

Thanks!

* EDIT * I found it... looks like it's only for the 88** series... should have known by the yellow/green battery in the pics...

Default 8830 - Fix for Voice Command Button

I bought this from BBDen (it's a Seidio) - pretty much the same cradle as I had for the 8700, but moves the USB plug up.

The only problem is when you put the 8830 into the cradle, you inevitably hit the voice command. After getting sick of hearing "say a command" a few too many times, I routed out a few mm where the button hits (I took it apart 1st to make sure I wouldn't damage anything important - it's hollow, but the USB cable does run nearby).

Problem solved- and now it's no longer annoying me

I don't know if you're referring to my post, but if you are, what I found is NOT for the 8300 but the 8800 series. Sorry if that was a little confusing. I, too want one for the 8300!
