Anyone else get an 'instant message' from the Blackberry forums from someone wanting a date? Now I'm getting a pop up message occasionally when I come to this site... grrrrr

Moved to Site News/Suggestions.

Was this a "Private Message?" Can you forward it to a moderator?

There was a user here yesterday that had registered several usernames. "She" was claiming several things, such as to be a single deaf lady in one, asking to chat.

"She" and the other companion accounts were banned. If any users want, they forward any strange PMs they receive to a moderator here and it will be examined and dealt with if needed.

Thanks Jsanders.... that is exactly what happened. Now I get this pop up in the centre of the screen when I come onto this site. It doesn't happen everytime, just enough to assure me that some kind of spyware has been downloaded to my machine! Zonealarm spyware has been run and didn't find anything.... What is it with these people??

Andy--was the popup the PM you got here? That is the normal function of the PM system here if that is what you got.

What does the pop-up say?
It sounds like the pop-up you get for notification of a new Private Message.

You can turn that off in your user control panel if you want. But once you've read the new private message, you should no longer get the pop-up.

Does the pop up for a new PM appear outside of the blackberryforum window? i.e. in it's own window that you can move around etc. independently? If that is the case, then that is what i got... (smiley for a huge sigh of relief goes here)

Just open it and delete it. You can rest assured that opening and deleting this message will cause NO virus infection to your PC.
