Hi all - Running BES 4.0 HF5 for exchange (5.5) on Windows 2k. Currently have 85 bes users and for the most part, this install has been rock solid.

Up until last saturday, delivery to handhelds was exact - a new mail hits exchange, and within seconds it was on the handheld (mostly 7290's). Starting Saturday, the mail comes in batches, around every 10-15 minutes, you receive on the handheld whatever came in within that time period.

Very strange, nothing in the infrastructure has changed.

Has anyone seen this behavior before, or have any ideas where to start troubleshooting? There is nothing salient in the windows\app event viewer.

If the emails are being received in 15-20 mins batches,it means that the Exchange servers are not sending MAPI/UDP notifications to the BES server.

There may be a problem with the MAPI connection.

Try the below:



1)Log on to bes as BES Service Account
2)Backup and Delete the below key:
HKCU/software/microsoft/windows nt/current version/windows messaging subsystem/Profiles
3)Go to the Blackberry Configuration Tool
4)Click on Blackberry Server Tab
5)Click on Edit MAPI
6)Type the Service account user id and Exchange server info
7)Appy changes

Reboot the server

This should resolve the issue,if the issue still presists

There was some talk of a MS Hotfix blocking all UDP traffic ports on the BES,hence BES not being able to receive UDP notificaitons from Exchange server.

If that is not the case,obtain and run BES/Exchange performance counters on the Exchange servers.
