Default Strange Blackberry Manager error

Please Login to Remove!

Can someone tell me what this error means? This is the Blackberry manager sitting on a desktop machine in Portland so our technician down there can add\remove users. The database and BES is in Seattle. After they load the manager they get this error if it sits idle for 5 - 10 minutes. Is this normal behavior? I'm having no network issues, however we do have WAN optimization appliances in the office and in Seattle. Not sure if that is causing a timeout.

Error is:
Unable to get the license key from the database. Please ensure the database is available and SQLserver is running.
Press OK to connect to the database.

Clicking on OK makes it work again, but I need to fix this for good.

Also, seeing as this user is remote, what is the ping time from that machine to the SQL Server?

SQL has a high tolerance for ping, 250MS or less should work. This does sound like a network connectivity issue though. I don't think there is a DB timeout setting on the BES as well.

Thanks everyone. The ping time is like 12ms so i dont think that is the issue. I think it's these damn WAN optimization appliance things we have on our network. I've also checked SQL if it has TCP\IP and PIPES per the KB article and both were there. These appliances are causing more grief than good. Don't recommend them to any network admin.
