Default Reset Software

The Quickpull website says it is NOT compatible with the Flip. But there is a post here about using it as long as it is not holstered. Does anyone know if Quickpull or Softreset can be used safely with the Flip? I don't care about scheduling restarts, just want to avoid hassling with battery pulls. thanks.

No need to look for an icon. Just press alt>right shift>delete. This will simulate the battery pull.

That doesn't work on the Pearl of Flip which use Sure Type. I think that is why that software was developed. My manual for the flip says pull the battery to restart. But I can't find information on whether the programs Quickpull or Softreset will work on the Flip (they do on the Pearl).

Hi, thanks for the site, but do you know if this is definitely compatible with the Flip? According to a download site I had found for Quickpull, it said it was incompatible with the Flip. I'm hesitant to try it if no one has used it on the flip yet.

I'm sorry; I wasn't aware of that. So maybe if you contact the Quick Pull developers, they may be able to help you out. I'll also try searching for an alternative.
Any others out there that could answer here?

I have this one (SoftReset) on my Pearl 8130, but can't find any info on whether it works on the FLIP:
Download SoftReset (BlackBerry) 0.2 for Blackberry - SoftReset is an application that allows you to easily soft reset your BlackBerry without having to take the battery out. - Softpedia

So basically, the question is whether anyone knows whether Quickpull or SoftReset are able to work on the Flip.

I emailed [email address] for Quickpull but since it is freeware, I don't know if I will here back from them. Thanks for any info other users may have.

Thanks.

I googled up this:
simulated batterypull for suretype - Google Search
There seems to be some info about it here. Since I'm not familiar with a suretype device, this doesn't make much sense to me. Hope this can help.
Resetme not is here:
S4BB Limited Free Software

Here is the info I received from Steelthorn.

"Thank you for your interest in QuickPull. Yes, QuickPull Lite is compatible with the BB 8230, however when the device/flip is closed it is considered holsterd/locked and a scheduled QuickPull will not run. QuickPull will run manually or scheduled if the device is open."

So I will try this program. Hope this dialog helps another flip user.
