Maybe it's a matter of time and experience with the device. In general, over the years, I've found touch screens great for things like selection, dragging, etc, but disappointing for anything but the smallest amount of text/number input. For anything involving high volume input, I've learned through experience that I really need tactile feedback - but maybe that's just me.

Gal, look up installer.app on iphone. Pretty good community project where they are adding apps to load onto iphone every day. Some promise their for the hackers, one co-worker has this and has like 12 added apps.

vinmont, i know what you mean but actually very easy to dial, 2 buttons then big keypad.

Just an update with me and the subject. I ordered my iPhone yesterday. It was just too tempting. I will however be doing a side-by-side review of both devices for people who care more about getting things done (the BlackBerry crowd I've been in).

Here goes

I'm so conflicted.

I was very skeptical about the iPhone. I've been demoing it for over a week and this thing is great. I was against the keyboard because all the times I was able to test it out, I just felt as if I could type so much faster on the BB.

Now, I can go blazing fast on the iPhone...it seriously not an issue any more ( as far as being still and typing ).

The problem I do find with typing is when I'm walking and trying to text.

Oh and dialing? This is not even an issue...the keys are big and the phone only requires one hand..I can actually txt with one hand too. It's not a big deal...

Still contemplating on the iPhone or the Curve tho.

I went from a balckberry pearl, to an iphone, currently have a blackberry 8800.

The typing isnt too bad on the iphone I was used to it after about a week.

IPOD was great, wifi was great, internet browsing was great, camera was great, viewing photos also good. I had every mp3 I have downloaded in the past 3 years on my iphone, and some full legth movies on top of that. Phone features work well, and I love the voicemail. It's the best voicemail system I have ever had. I dont really have any use for youtube but it works well. I used the weather and stock features. Very cool, but more flashy than useful.

These are all features that my blackberry is very poor at or lacks completely.

Now to the weaknesses. E-mail is mediocre, and it doesnt save a copy of e-mails directly on the phone. I cant open any attatchments that are not pictures. It lacks GPS. Google maps is very complicated, and too hard to use. No third party software. Battery life isnt as good as the BB. Iphone lacks IM, and voice dialing.

My only complaints with the BB is the lack of a camera, crappy media player, and lack of wifi.

I'm waiting for the 16 GB iPhone. Hopefully, Apple will be selling a larger capacity iPhone when my contract is up with T-Mobile.

Is it possible to have a Curve and an iPhone under the same plan or a discounted one since they are both under AT&T for me or would it have to be 2 different accounts all together?
