I have level 1 filters configured if I receive emails from specific users. I have noticed the names added from Desktop Manager resolve to display each user's email address. The ones added from my BlackBerry display the name of the user, and they do not seem to be functioning. Does it need to show the email address? It looks something like this:

email01@bb.com; email02@bb.com; email03@bb.com;Smith, Larry;Adams, Mo;Jones, Curley

The addresses in green were added from Desktop Manager. The ones in red were added later from the BlackBerry. I could not specify what email address I wanted filtered if they happened to have more than one.

Should "from" filters added or configured on the handheld be displaying the user's name or email address? The spacing doesn't seem to be correct either.

I did a search but didn't run across anything specific to this.

Let me ask another question:

Can anyone create Level 1 notifications "From" specific people directly on the BlackBerry? If so, what steps are you taking to create these filters.

i use from address and use full smtp address without issue

Same here. I use the fully qualified address. I have had no luck with the alias from exchange.

Does it automatically resolve the fully qualified address when you create or edit the "from" filter on your BlackBerry?

I create a new FROM filter on the BlackBerry:
1) Select the FROM field
2) Wheel-click and choose SELECT NAME
3) Choose a name from my contacts who has a valid email address
4) Their name shows up in the FROM field now.
5) When I save the filter, it never resolves or shows the fully qualified email address (unless I create the filter from Desktop Manager).

Is this what you all are doing too?

We opened a case with RIM. Seems this is an issue for all users. Great job RIM.
