Default Advanced use of text message and calendar.

Please Login to Remove!

I've just unlocked a Rogers BB with Fido. I work in sales and receive text messages to my phone as sales leads. Right now I am taking these leads and then hitting reply to add my notes but then save it as drafts. A little crude but it works.

Now, I want an easy way to take these notes, or text messages and copy it into a schedule OR task for myself. The cutting and pasting and moving around just takes FAR too many steps.

In terms of scheduling and reminders the software appears to be very weak in terms of moving information around.

Can anybody suggest alternatives, or thing I haven't explored yet? I just got this thing working yesterday. I would appreciate any thoughts. I really want this to replace my daytimer completely. Thanks in advance!

ToDo Matrix is a great for that purpose. In ToDo Matrix app, you get a shortcut menu item ADD TO TODO MATRIX or the such. It is baiscally an organizer appl that a lot of people love.

Your BB will completely replace a DayTimer.

It says it needs to connect to TCP something or other after I install it via cable...

I do not have internet or data access on this BB.

ah, well, then it won't work. You never said you didn't have the BB Data Plan. You could go use any old phone. The 7290 is much more powerful than just for use as a phone and SMS.

Sorta like driving a log truck to carry one watermelon. But to each his own, enjoy what you have. I know the BB Data Plan costs a lot and not everyone wants to shell out those $$s each month.

IdeaMatrix would probably be a better choice for note taking. It has no size restrictions for notes. ToDoMatrix is mainly for task management. I have both and personally thing they are essential apps.

Can I use this without having the BB service through Rogers?

You won't get the task management feature you said you needed in the first post... take the notes, copy in to a schedule or into tasks... that is why I suggested ToDo Matrix.
