I have purchased Makayama Media Studio to convert DVD to a format that the roxio can use. I will try this later tonight.

I'm not sure if this works with the Curve, but you can check it out:
Seabyrd Technologies - Blackberry Video Converter

It looks like they have DVD support, and best of all....it's free.

You need to have the DVD in some sort of video format on your computer. You can then use Roxio to convert it into the proper format/size for your BlackBerry.

Can you just rip the DVD on your harddrive and then open up media manager and drop from your computer across into the BB? Will that work?

most dvd's are around 4.6gb....i don't think you will find a mini-sd that big lol.

use the seabyrd converter, ive used it and it worked fine, if you google search for optimized settings, (dont have the link offhand, sorry) you will get a nice conversion, which looks awsome on the curves full screen option!

i'm currently enjoying season 3 of lost (the whole season ) in curve's full screen glory

Just get Makayama Media Studio. It works as advertised. It rips video from teh DVD, converts and compresses the video and finally loads it on your 8300. Top notch software.

I use PocketDVD Studio. It can be set up to crop widescreen presentations to the exact screen sizes necessary and convert with whatever codec you want. Doing it this way is a 2-step process. First with PocketDVD Studio to rip to a file then using Roxio to transfer file to your BB. Tested it out and it works fine. Can even read subtitles if your eyesight is keen enough.

Wow...that works quickly and efficiently, thanks!

One problem- the video and audio do not synch- any way to adjust this?

I think I read somewhere on this site that is a known problem and will be addressed by RIM. Don't hold me to this, just remember seeing this discussed by others.
