I was wondering because on some websites I can download files that are 50mb+ but on others I get an error message if I try download files over 4mb. So how does it work?

If your on a BIS server then the carrier sets the limit. If on a BES then the company you work for sets the limit. check with the admin or carrier for limits they set.

I would suggest the limit is due to the type and possible the loacation of the file if on a corporate system.
Are you sure your downloading a 50mb file?

Yeah I'm sure it's 50mb because I've even put it on my PC and it says 50mb. Also the one that is downloadable and the one that isn't are both mp3s so I don't think that it's file type that's the problem.

Even though it looks like a MP3 file it may not be and the extension is wrong. You can try loading it via the desktop manager program. It has a media manager built in.
download it to a your PC then upload it.

If you were on wifi and using the hotspot browser, there would have been no file size limit. That was most likely the case.
