Default Has your bb replaced your ipod?

Please Login to Remove!

If it weren't for a few podcasts and the ability to listen to my ipod through my car stereo I would probably ditch it for my bb. A few other things... The bb's volume is nowhere near as good as my ipod's, and of course there's no memory card out there that can match an 80gb ipod. Any workarounds? I'd love to completely ditch the ipod and just have one device...

Nope, my BB can never replace my iPod Touch. There is no comparison for me at all. The sound out of the BB is nowhere near the sound quality from my iPod, it doesn't have a music store like the iPod and video, well, that's just not much of a contest. When I am near WiFi I even use the iPod for web surfing and email over the BB because, again, it really isn't much of a contest.

If I could get an iPhone on the Verizon network I would have one in a second.

For now my 8320 has to replace my 5th Gen. 30 gig Ipod, the headphone jack is broken and the serial dock is loose. I don't have enough $$ for a new one nor think sending it in to get repaired is suitable for me. I'm saving some money up for a new Ipod Touch but for now my main Playlist fits nicely on my 8GB micro-sd I also use Slacker as an alternative to Satellite radio, my car stereo has an AUX input through the front panel. So it works well but its no ipod, but a good compettitor

Never! As much as I dearly love my storm, and its music capabilities. There's no way it replaces my black 80gb ipod, My 30gb white ipod my ipod nano and my touch lol=). I got like afew hundred songs on my storm. And like 50,000 on my ipods and touch!

Wirelessly posted

I have an ipod but I've never used it. I had a cheap sansa mp3 player that was good enough. I've used my BB for music but I don't think the sound quality is that great.

I mainly use it in speakerphone mode while I'm at work since I still have to be able to hear my radio.

I mainly used my iPod Video for playing videos, and given I find converting videos for my iPod a nightmare, my BB has definitely replaced it.

Although I've got probably 22 GB of music on my iPod, I generally listen to a relatively small portion of it, so I'm more likely to fill up 1-2GB on my Curve, which is always with me. When I'm travelling I don't want to carry the iPod particularly, especially when it needs the charger due to poor battery life.

...and don't even get me started on iTunes.

Nope. iPod lives in the car (and interfaces extremely well with the Alpine head unit which, in turn, is interfaced with my car's dash controls). BB stays with me.

No. I rarely use my Ipod and I never use my Storm as a music player. I mostly listen to the radio in my car. I will break-out the Ipod when I exercise or when I'm at the mall with my wife with a few hours to kill while I wait on her.

Default Curve works just as well for me.

I lost my iPod a month ago and have been using my Curve to run with. It doesn't have all the memory I really need, so I just change out the playlists. I also got Nutsie from Handango - it pulls the music directly from my iTunes so it's essentially a replacement iPod for me which is awesome.

Handango is actually having a sale today - so you can get Nutsie (or anything else for that matter) at 25% off the original price ($20) - handango.com

Same here, I just can't justify the $ to purchase a ipod when there's many other much important things that I need to pay for. My Blackberry plays the music that I want it to and since I really don't listen to music much, there's no reason to purchase a ipod.

Almost, hehe... if I'm teaching, or trying to come up with some choreo, or taking long trips, then I use my iPod, other then that I usually listen to the radio... But since I got my Bold, and Slacker, I've pretty much used my BB instead of the radio, and I when I had my 8525, I got it cause I didn't want to carry around 3 devices every day... my Bold has since taken over those duties. So for a definite yes or no, I would have to say Yes!

I have an iPod touch as well as an iPod nano (the clip kind).

For watching videos I use my storm, as the screen on it is far superior to that of the touch. Blacks actually look black, and after trading the touch out 3 times and the screen issue never being correct, I gave up.

As for music, you cant beat the ipod nano (clip) for going to the gym, its tiny, can clip onto your shorts and dont have to worry about it. The touch is hooked up to the car and produces much better sound than my Storm.

But when travelling and its easier to just have one device to use, its the Storm all the way.

Not gonna happen!
My iPod Touch will always have a place at the dinner table over my bb. I mean, The touch picture & movie quality is heads-up over my bb. I love being able to look at my family pics & movies all the time on a screen that's bigger than an a inch or two. The sound quality is also superb over my bb's.
Don't get me wrong, I live in a Blackberry World, but I live on iPod street.

I have the iPod 80G Classic. My Curve will never replace it. I have too much music and too many movies on it for it to just be thrown over.
