Sending a picture message takes forever. Any way to speed this up? It freezes my phone sometimes. Anyone else have this problem?

A picture you took with the Pearl's camera? or a picture you copied to your phone/memory card?

The reason it takes "forever" is probably because of the file weight of the image/file...so if you're sending pics you took with the camera, lower the settings on the camera, it helped a lot! I use the medium (640x480) Picture Size and "Fine" picture quality....these settings on average (for me) produce a file weight of 30-40kb, which is a lot less than 200-400 it was producing with the largest size and best quality. The pictures still come out GREAT...with good lighting of course.

If you are sending pictures you copied to your phone, like photographs and such...reduce the size/resolution of them first, and then copy them to your phone. Once that is done, when you send them as MMS/E-mail/or via BBmessenger, they'll send in a BREEZE!

I'm pretty fluent in Photoshop (photo editing and such) but those of you who are not, or don't own Photoshop or clue less on how to lower the size/resolution of your digital photographs...here's a GREAT solution for WinXP users...and FREE. It's a WINXP Powertoy "Image Resizer" you can download here:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

1) Download 2) Run .exe 3)Install 4) Use!

this is not really an application you open on your PC, rather it integrates an Image Resizer to WinXP through the "Right-Click" menu. To Use it, just go to My Comptuer, and open the folder where you want to resize pictures, select the photo (OR PHOTOS!), right-click, select Resize Pictures, and use the Small (640x480) setting. By default, it will make a COPY of your originals, but resized, and with a lot less file weight to carry around.

ENJOY! Excuse the lenghty reply, hope this helps!

Default Receiving picture messages is delayed

My question is related to this original thread:

Is anyone experiencing a delay in receiving picture messages? I've got the Pearl on T-Mobile and it seems like it takes about an hour after a friend sends the picture message before my Pearl receives it.

Thanks for any feedback you can offer!
