Default Is Slacker free?

Please Login to Remove!

Or do you have to pay a fee per month because it says my free trial is up now.

Does Verizon give you a light version for free or does Slacker force you to upgrade to their premium version after the free trial period?

Thx

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

There is a premium or free service for now. I have never used the premium service and am more of a Pandora user

It's a large number.
A 1 followed by 100 zeroes.

LOL ... I second Pandora though .. Great service, doesn't have as much music, but seems to pick better tunes... Love it!

Actually, to be precise, it's a misspelling of "googol," the word that refers to that number.

Check your sarcasm detector. I think it might be broken.

Slacker has fabulous web based tools that allow you to set up its recommendation engine on parameters such as popular or deep cuts, recent or vintage cuts, or how far from the genre it will stray. It's actually quite amazing. I also like Slacker's ability to cache stations to your media card, so it doesn't use the mobile network to download songs. The software used to be pretty buggy, but it's gotten much better recently. It's totally free if you don't mind a few ads here and there. It only allows 6 skips (per session or per hour, I don't recall). All in all, an amazing package.

Pandora doesn't seem to have as much music, or all the tools to allow control over the music it presents, but it still does a great job. I find that it repeats artists and songs much more than Slacker.

I use Slacker when I want more a of diverse "radio" selection, and Pandora when I want a more targeted "album like" experience.

They're both great, but at the end of the day, I think I prefer Slacker.

Thx for the replies. So what is a skip? Is that each time you choose a song?

I deleted the program because all I get is this massage that my trial period is over no matter which genre I choose. I only tried to play a few songs and it seems I'm blocked out.

I went to their website and I found no help even before I asked my questions over here.

Seems they want you to be guided into their pay service without telling you how to play just the basic service.

I'll install it again if I can use it for free. I don't find it very user friendly though.

If you use the fast forward to a different song, that's a skip.

Did you create a Slacker account online? I've never seen anything about a trial version, and I have the free version. I had it on my Curve and now the Tour. One thing I like about Slacker is that you can cache stations to the media card and listen when there's no signal or you have to turn the radio off like an an airplane.
