Am I missing something here? If you have to use the plug in cord and USB port with this charging pod, what is the point? Just charge your Tour without it.

By using the charging pod, there is the convenience of just placing it in the pod without having to fumble with the cable to plug it in. You are also better able to view the screen when using the clock/alarm in bedside mode. Also by using the charging pod, you avoid all that wear & tear on the micro-USB port which tends to be fragile.

Yes, it's fine to leave it on the charger, even after the battery shows fully charged.

can you tell me how that works? from the picture, there seem to be two contact points to the bottom of the Tour inside the cradle, but when i look at the Tour, there isn't anything that will touch those. do i put the Tour in the crable and it starts charging or do i need to do anything else?

Yes it just sits in the cradle. There are 2 points on the back it charges through.

Cool, I'll have to get one when Verizon has them, better price and it goes right on my account.
