Default It ain't gonna be AT&T - I could cry!

Please Login to Remove!

As a Centennial Wireless user, which is being taken over by AT&T, - I have patiently been waiting for this takeover to be finalized so I can get my hands on a BOLD.

Now I am finding out that for whatever reasons, the area I live in will be partitioned off to Verizon

I am physically ill over this news knowing that VZW does not have the BOLD and has no plans of getting it

AAaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!

I suppose I will have to try to find an unlocked BOLD but I did not want to spend that kind of money - especially when you never know what in hell you are getting

I will listen to any advise offered for this sickening development

Wirelessly posted (VZW 8330)

An unlocked Bold will not work on Verizon's network. You'll have to get an 8330 or wait for the Tour to come out.

BALLHAWK - I have no clue what to expect..I know they will offer deals on the switch but I am hoping that Centennial/Verizon will let me out of the contract when they change over. Seriously hoping....

The Bold is nice, but its certainly not worth getting worked up over. Besides, Verizon is launching the CDMA version of the Bold shortly, which is a bit nicer IMHO. Devices aside, I would be more upset with having Verizon as a carrier, then the devices they carry.

Why so upset about VZW? I've been a customer for many years and have found the coverage around the country to be great as well as the customer service. Only thing I don't like is that they are very slow to release new equipment.

Because Verizon is not the best for everyone everywhere.

They seem to be getting better about stuff like this from what I've seen but they were notorious for crippling devices and then charging their customers to use features that they crippled.

All Carriers have their good points and bad points. Everything is a trade-off.

I have had Centennial for years because of their coverage. During hurricanes when everone was walking around parking lots doing crazy ritualistic dances with their cell phones trying to some bars indicating they had coverage - I was talking on my phone.

Taken all things into consideration - VZW would not be my 1st choice as my new carrier.

I talked to a guy today and he gave me some info and some tips on what to do when they take over so I am feeling much more optimistic about my choices.

Additionally - the transition may not be very far off now.
