Alarm doesn't seem to be working on my bold and can't figure out why. Here is the rundown:

- Alarm WILL NOT SOUND in the morning, only vibrate.
- Menu with option to dismiss or snooze appears but still no sound.

- I've tested it during the day a million times and works everytime (vibrate and sound) regardless of: being plugged in or not, locked or unlocked, any profile (vibrate, quiet, loud, normal), in bedside mode or not.

- but still every night I plug it in beside my bed and at 7:00 AM - NO SOUND - only vibrate.....

If someone could please help me out that would be awesome because this is getting a little frustrating, and I should start going to class. Thanks.

I'm going to assume you tried even the simple things like a battery pull...

If that doesn't seemt o solve it, try and reload the OS and see if that fixes the issue.

If the battery pull does not correct then try changing to a different alert and see if it will sound.

Considering his phone is probably brand new, reloading the OS seems quite un-necessary and if it is then RIM has surly fallen from grace with this pig of a phone.

This might be stupid but did you go into the clock options to set the alert? The alarm does not coincide with the profile for phone calls, sms, email, etc. hit menu key, options.

is it by any chance plugged into the computer? and the files needed are on your sd card

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I'm yet another first time BB user so no, I hadn't tried to remove the battery yet.


So last night I didn't change a single setting, only removed the battery and restarted the phone, and what do you know my alarm actually had sound in the morning for the first time!

So like I said it worked fine this morning, but I guess we'll see if it continues to or not. I hope this isn't a recurring problem though. Thanks again.

A battery pull is always the best thing to try first when you Blackberry does not act like it should.

And to answer some of the questions if anyone is curious:

The phone IS in bedside mode when I plug it in at night. But from what I understand the alrm should still work normally. And I've tested it during the day in bedside mode previously and it worked normally. It just wouldn't sound in the morning, only vibrate, for whatever reason.

Phone was not plugged into a computer, just the stock wall charger.

Alarm WAS set through clock options.

Why not? Mine works great in Bedside mode.
