Default Bluetooth 5.0.0.190 on Bold

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone else running the above have the same issues that when your Bluetooth devices are disconnected that you can't hit the BB button on them? I was trying to delete a device from my Bold but you can only do it if the device is disconnected. Well after I disconnect the device I can't get a menu from it anymore? Just wondering if it was my device or fact of the Beta OS. Would love to hear your experience with it.

That happened to me the first time I installed. I re-installed it yesterday, but I wiped my phone completely and now my BT works just fine. Try that and see it if works for you.

I read reports on CB that it worked for others as well.

Did you do a complete dead wipe or just a security wipe and type in BlackBerry?

I believe he meant using JL_Cmder and completely removing the OS from the device.

So I'm thinking about upgrading to 5.0. Is it recommended to use one of these 3rd party wiping apps before upgrading

Edit..

Nevermind. Guess the answer is no

Its really your choice. If you know what you are doing and a 507 Error message does not scare you then your fine. By hard wiping your device you don't even have the JVM installed to talk to desktop manager so you have to start the loader program with the option /nojvm and it will attach to the ROM instead.

Guys, I think it's a incompatibility with the 4.6 bluetooth settings that are getting restored. This would also show why it came back after bes activation because that would be restored again from the server, right? I haven't had the chance to try, I will when I get home, but to go into the advanced backup/restore and delete the bluetooth database off the device and start from scratch. Just a theory instead of wiping the whole device again.

Basically all you have to do is wipe all 3rd party apps off, and if you have any BT Devices installed, delete those too.

@nick.dollimount

I hear what you are saying but the option is Grayed out and I cannot remove the database and I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone know how to ungrey that out? I know with most options you can turn wireless Sync and then you can remove that. How would you do that with Bluetooth.

I cleared out my bluetooth entry using DM but haven't had a chance to test it in my car yet. I'll go out shortly to give it a try.

Haha, see now you have to help me. How did you removed those entries with DM?

In the Advanced part of the Backup/Restore section in DM. Not sure why Caspan's is grayed out though =S Mine was fine and let me clear it with no issue.

Ok..I have the same problem with my Bod but with an old 4.6 os that I will replace soon, so probably it's a device issue.

In my case, when I make a call using my car handsfree bluetooth system while the device is in standby, when the call ends I am not able (most of the times) to exit from the standby mode unleast I do a battery pull.

I had noticed this even with my old Pearl 8100, but with that device I found a way to exit from that situation that it seams not working here with my new Bold.

The technique consisted in trying to turning off the device with the power-off button, and while the "hit any key to abort shutdown" menu was showing up, hit the mute button to enter in standby again, and then exit from standby correctly hitting the mute key again.

This little power-off/mute buttons trick was sufficient to avoid this problem, but with the Bold there is no way to avoid this bluetooth issue.

Can you please explain what is the better thing to do? Consider that I have to change os and that I have already done a hardwipe with JL_Cmder, but don't know what BBSAK is.

Thank you!
