My blackberry curve 9300 3G is going very slow. Also when i lock the phone
and press the back button to turn screen on it takes very ages to come on and i dont know why its doing this and going very slow

When i get a text/SMS of a person i go to my SMS bit and it never lets me open any of my messages This is very annoying so i am thinking of Taking it back if i cant get it fixed and getting the torch if i can

Try a battery pull to reset the phone first. Also you make sure to completely close and exit out of any unused programs.

I've run accross this exact problem, over and over, while beta testing BB6 for 9700.

Its memory bleed. So, bad that the automatic memory boost hasn't even got enough memory available to fix the problem

Your best bet is to try the advice above. And if that doesn't work, upgrade your OS. This forum has excellent instructions on how to do that.

The reason for this is simple. Every OS has minor adjustments to its memory management. Some versions are better than others.
