Default opera mini socket vs http settings?

Please Login to Remove!

under settings>network>protocol. u can either choose socket or http. i notice when i choose socket, connection are much faster. but after browsing for like certain number of pages, i received an error saying rim has detected the maximum bytes allow connection. and i have to close the opera mini browser and open it up again.

when i choose http, it seems when i tried to load a page, it seems to takes forever. i didnt received the similar warning yet cuz the browsing is so slow..i just gave up.

so any1 here knows what is the difference between these 2 settings and what is the correct settings i should choose for my curve? thx in advance.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Go with socket.
In laymans terms, the socket connection keeps you on the sites. The http selection will search for the sites each time which ties in with the ip addresses.

If you can't get a connection through the socket then switch to http.

Think of http as an alternate route that some users have to take.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm new to BB and am getting the same thing. I'm on Verizon in the US with an 8130.
