In her exact words, the Tier 2 Rep stated that Telenav is a software from Nextel; costs $9.95/month.

Does anyone know for sure if Nextel is going to TRY and support Telenav, boy the Telenav folks should be reading these posts about Nextels support if that is the case.

In regards to the Telenav issue, Tier 2 Rep apologized profusely when I basically 'struggled' with her. Thanks to BBForums.com, I knew that was not right.

I tried the above as per the Tier 2 support. It's still not working.

Have you tried to remove the battery yet? I had the same problem, removed the battery for a couple of minutes and reinstalled it. The browser reappeared at startup. It may not work, but its worth a try, and couldn't hurt.

Uhh Yes... Did you see my earlier post?

By the way that is all I did. After all the waiting and the removing the battery and such I went through the above steps and it showed up right away.

I never called Nextel and I never logged in to the BWC online.

Thumbs up Html Browser....

I have been doing credit checks for Nextel with my Blackberry 7250 using the Html Browser for almost 4 days now. So far I haven't faced any problems or difficulties. As for one of my co-workers, when she opens up the browser it says Unable to access internet, please contact service provider. To bad for her I guess huh? LoL However, everything for me is still going fine, thank God. As of right now i'm fully satisfied with the browser, even more so then with Reqwireless Webviewer. For everyone elses sake, I hope the browser quickly becomes availble in their area. Additionally, I talked with my boss in Lexington today and he says the Browser will only get better and more reliable. So from what I see and hear, thing will only get better!

Default It's not downloaded

By updated the handheld software from the blackberry site, it becomes part of the package. Remember, you have to load the package to your Blackberry (simply double clicky after you download it.) I am also assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that you have installed the Blackberry Software onto your desktop.

Then, follow the rest of the steps and ...well that's how myself and one other got it to work.

But it worked!

Default No more HTML browser icon

I had the HTML browser for about a wweek and a half prior to the release a few days ago. Everything was going smooth until two days ago when any attempts to use the HTML browser would give me the following message,

"Internet Service Unavailable. If this problem persists, please contact your service provider."

I called customer support (Tier 2 Blackberry support) at Nextel twice and both reps did not have any answers for me........one of them was absolutely clueless as to what an HTML browser is while the other suggested Telenav was neccessary to get HTML browser access.

Hence, I seek advice from the forum pros. Below is my email to Nextel CSR as well:

1 - Refreshed my Host Routing Table. Nothing.

2 - Refreshed HRT, then taking the battery out for over 3 minutes and doing a master radio reset as per the first CSR. nothing.

3 - BB service rep suggested to change my IP. Nothing.

4 - I deleted all my service books and conducted a master reset and then going back and 'undeleting' the service book entries as some forum members suggested to no avail. By doing this, I lost my browser icon. I am looking at my service book entries currrently and realized that there are at least two less service books than what I had before when I had a successful HTML browser (after the 319 upgrade).

5 - Lastly, I had resent my service books to my 7520 via my Blackberry Web Client account and still no luck.

any help?

I am damn near done *!#@ing with Nextel. Why is it that soooo many people are sooooo stupid at Blackberry support. I called to find out why it is that I haven't managed to get the new browser and they told me that I had to do a whole bunch of downloads. Then after they are done downloading that I would have to call them back and they would get it setup. Well by the time it all got done downloading I called back, but the good folks in Tier 2 were already gone for the day. So I asked the gentleman what I was supposed to do now. He told me that Nextel doesn't have a new browser and that it wouldn't be coming out for a least a few weeks. When I told him that I knew of SEVERAL people that had it. He laughed and said that it wasn't possible and that someone had told me a lie. What a dipshit.

Cheers!

What is really throwing me off in all of this (and maybe I'm the lucky one) is that I never called anyone. I never "asked" for it to be sent. I just downloaded/uploaded the new software.

I still didn't have the new browser and figured I wold have to call so before I did that, I deleted all the service books (I hate calling customer service for anyone).

I noticed that some of them came back by themselves when I HRT registered so I deleted them again and turned off the unit and removed the battery.

A few minutes later I pushed the battery back in and re-registered.

It just showed up.

And with every passing post, I feel like the lucky one.

nope, no gun jumping here. I just 'insisted' that the service rep's information was incorrect (in regards to the telenav reference). I have to say that despite my plea, the service rep placed me on hold to obtain the correct information before apologizing to me (this happened like 4 times before she got it right). A lazy service rep on the other hand may have just placed me on hold for the sake of putting me on hold.

It is still unbelievable that Nextel would roll something this huge with such poor communication inside their own company. WOW that terrible.
