Smile Not sure if this helps

Please Login to Remove!

If you do the alt lglg from the main home screen you get the log area of the pearl...

I don't know about you, but I don't really think i need a log or warning for every module on my pearl... I am not running a webserver, or looking for bad hd, if you know what i mean....

If you menu, you should be able to get to the settings and disable/ or hide all logging on the pearl. Not sure if this helps with memory or speed, but i don't care about the log, if the phone freezes it is a hard reboot for me.

Hey I was curious where you learned about this alt code, and if there may be more of these system like codes floating around out there

There are a few and they're well documented. if you search for "ALT Codes" here the third entry returned is this thread: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ight=alt+codes

Cool

Yep - seems to have had the same effect on the responsiveness of my phone. While this info seems impt to business users and BES admins, I'm thinking that consumers aren't interested in log files or the possibility of those logs to be a privacy issue... wonder why RIM doesn't shut this off by default for their consumer models???

I did clear my logs and I went to options to "hide all". Will there be any negative affects from this?

The process was relative to me... The first thing i do on a computer in general is uninstall and remove unnecessary services. You can also remove apps off your phone, via desktop manager if you do not use them.... I removed the instant messaging app...

Logging is not needed, if you do not have any problems... if you have problems like constant reboots and crashes it might be a good idea to hold onto those logs and mail them to rim or your carrier.

Very helpful, thank you.

I disabled my logs a week ago and I think that stopped my BBMessenger from stalling.

Thanks again!
