give me a reason to switch from my curve to a tour
Please Login to Remove!
I love my curve, but its lags and freezes from time to time. Pandora (which i use all the time may have something to do with it) is resource heavy. Having 256m of ram should solve this compared to the curves 64, no? Any way what other bonuses will i reap in my switch besides a better camera and keyboard layout?
modem teathering still works for the tour on VZW like my curve right? I didnt see it in the feature list on VW website.
Thanks,
The Fuzz

The increased memory and screen are two great reasons.

Tour is a big step up in terms of network alone.

Your profile shows you're on Verizon. Tour is worth it to me to get unlocked GPS, finally!

If you plan on leaving the country for a vacation, you can use the Tour overseas. You can't do that with the 8330.

I bought my Blackberry 8830 the day it was launched because I wanted a Verizon device that worked in other countries. I bought the Tour last Sunday for the same reason plus it is a far improved device over the 8830.
Why would folk by the 8830 or Tour if they were not planning to use it whilst traveling overseas?

I'm going to play Devils advocate...lol! The Device is so sick looking, and feels great in the hands, the camera is awesome, as well as the Video, and it's just well, NEW! However, voice quality stinks in my book! And to me, owning a device that I use for Business, Voice quality is first and foremost, everything else is 100% secondary! I'd go to the store, check it out, make a call, mess around with it a lil bit, and if your feelin it, buy it! Remember, you have 30 days to return it anyway, and for the most part VZW is cool about swapping out phones if you have a problem with the original. So your covered either way.

And I find both the voice quality and the speakerphone the best I have ever experienced with any BlackBerry-GO FIGURE!

I can give many reasons.
Screen (480x360 vx 320x240)
More memory! (256mb vs 96mb)
Faster Processor (524mhz? vs 312mhz)
Newer OS (4.6 vs 4.5)
Better Camera (3.2mp w/ Auto Focus vs 2.0mp)
Access to memory card without having to take out battery!
Really, the only downsize maybe (which is preference) would be the weight (it's definately heavier) and the larger size. And of course, the keyboard, if you prefere it more or not.

Which is preference too. I actually prefer a slightly heavier device to the plasticky feel of the Curve.

The tour is a step above and beyond the curve from a user experience point of view. Its faster, cleaner styling, more easy to read the screen, no lag/delay during operation, and I feel, in general, a better blackberry experience.

I just joined Sprint and the phone was not at the kiosk I purchased my phones at, but the local sprint store has two real morons working there ( that I know more walking in about their plans, phones and service terms than they did) so I did not want to approach them. I was going to try to barter my newness with the company into some type of real sweet discount on this phone, and turn my curve back in. I did not pay a whole bunch for the Curve, but I still think I can get a good deal here if I try.
Also, since you went from the Curve to this, do you like it? Was it worth the switch? I am going to go look at the side by side comparison you posted, I was hunting one of those so THANK YOU!!!
Ok thats all for now lol
Thanks

Have you had your curve for more than 30 days? If not, what is your reservation?? I can't see a really good reason to not go with the Tour, curve might get better battery life (not positive) and be physically lighter, but thats about it.

I have had the Curve for 8 days, but had one for almost 2 years with the VZ crew. I was really just trying to find out costing and see if I can scam a free one or almost free from sprint.

I paid $500 plus shipping and tax! I was not eligible for an upgrade as I've only been with Sprint a month. I plan to sell my Curve 8330m to offset some of that, now that I have the Tour sorted out.
