Thanks for making it easy for me to download the BB Messenger by clicking on your signature. It cuts through all these posts. It worked like a charm.

BTW:

I love your new signature logo.

I'm also upset at having to work harder to pay for the millions of stockholders, and officers and directors of corporations fattening up on corporate welfare. Shoot, the energy bill that just passed the Congress is chock-full of tax breaks and other perks for Big Oil. Glad to see you're on to it.

I installed the application just yesterday. I am using a BB 7290 with AT&T. So far, it works perfect. Now I just need PIN's to test the application.

I have Cingular as well, but I am having trouble downloading this from www.blackberry.com/messenger, so I will try to follow Lunk's advice and see if that works. There is a warning on the blackberry page warning Cingular users that this is not supported. I am still also trying to found out how to view what firmware I am on.
Any suggestions are welcomed!

Thanks,
MIRV

Is this program compatible with the 6510 model? I have loaded it using several different methods. It shows as being installed in the App Loader, but does not show up in Options> Applications on the handheld, and I can't see it anywhere on the home screen. Any ideas? Or should I just upgrade?

It's Nextel, BTW. And i'm on a BES, using 4.0 all around

nope def will not work on the 6510 you have to have the latest OS and they stopped supporting the 6510 a long while ago

Saw this posted someplace else.

They said, "I had the same question and somebody recommended downloading the program again, this time, OTA. After I did that, BlackBerry Messenger shows up under Options > Applications and can be removed."

I did the same thing and it worked (i.e., I was able to uninstall it). Halerious. You can do OTA install (uninstall) via:

Default Accept button???

I've installed BB messenger on a Verizon 7250 and although everything looks normal I am having one problem. If I add a contact, that person gets a notification and they can accept it fine. I get an email back stating I need to click on an accept button in the email. The email I get does not have a button to click on and appears to be just code or something. Is there something preventing the button from appearing in the email message? It almost looks like it just can't translate the code for the embedded button. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

mrobinson,
it seems like only contacts with blackberry.net addresses can accept an invitation through blackberry messenger. It is only a blackberry peer to peer.

The link probably doesn't work because that post is over 2 years old. Try installing the latest OS?

maybe this might be a stupid question, but is v4.2.1.94 the newest version? if so, this is what im going through. everytime i go on to the blackberry wap site trying to download bb messenger OTA, it says my service provider does not allow bb messenger to be downloaded. when i tried to download it through my computer while the bb is plugged in, it says on my computer that the device is not compatible with the software. can some one help me? im using rogers wireless in canada and work needs me to have bb messenger because thats how all of us communicate info between each other. i have to use yahoo at the moment until i can resolve this problem.

Just to be sure.... When using BBM, it does not count towards your text messaging count regardless which carrier you are sending and receiving?
