Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Both Google and BB maps use a lot of data. BB maps use to be the only one you could pair a BT puck to however recently Google enabled this feature with their 1.5.1 release.

I love the google maps and use it daily. Here in Seattle, the live traffic update is very useful as I can see the traffic jams on the major freeways. It will show green, yellow or red overlay on the roads when its really bad. As mentioned above, the satellite zoom is nice.

The drive from Renton to Downtown Seattle is a horrid one and I rely on Google maps to tell me if it's better to take the I-90 or I-5.

Thank you, Google. hehe

Hi,

Can you get goolge maps on the pearl via non-ota? I'm worried about downloading too much data on my work phone. Also do either Google or BB Maps download data when you browse the maps or do a search etc?

Thanks,

James

Google maps is great. However, as I'm looking at the map and traffic saying that its smooth sailing, I can't help but wonder when this was "updated" since I'm going at best 5 mph in bumper to bumper.

I believe there is about a 5 minute delay in the traffic update vs the real time on the department of transportation. At least in the Seattle area. In that 5 min time span, one disable vehicle can wreak havok almost immediately on traffic.

Surprised this is not mentioned yet.

Google maps is A LOT more up to date and accurate than BB Maps.

The subdivision I live in is 4 years old and STILL doesn't show up in BB maps. I have also searched for other addresses with mixed results.

Google Maps is a far superior product - on quite a few levels.
