Hi I have just got a new BBB. I got it through a friend. there was no security seal on the box and when I looked at the messages there was one dated september 2008 saying the following:

welcome to blackberry from CSL -one of the most advanced mobilebusiness tools in the world today.....

I found the message in the 'messages' not the 'sms &mms'. Does this mean my phone has already been registered to a network? I am only on pay as you go at the moment and was going to get a price plan so i can utilise all my phones functions but if it has already been registered is there anything I can do?

I dont really understand about blackberrys as it is my first one.

say what? How can I find out if my BB is already registered?

What carrier is it branded with? Call them and ask, give PIN and IMEI they will tell you what's up.

hi sorry it isnt branded with anything and how do I get my pin? Also I am on pay as you go at the moment.
